Construction continues at Harkness Memorial Park
Following the preparation that began in July, construction is now underway onsite at Harkness Memorial Park, as this new community space starts to take shape.
Temporary fencing is now in place around the development site, and construction works will begin the week of Monday 4 August, carried out by our lead contractor for the first stage early works, Unyte.
What’s happening on site
Over the coming months, residents close to the park may notice the following activity onsite as the construction team gets to work:
Setting up site sheds for construction workers
Groundworks and site levelling around the boundary
Delivery of pits and pipes for drainage works
Planting trees to create a landscape buffer along the site edge
The construction team will arrive on site from 6am, with work taking place from Monday to Friday, 7am-5pm and the occasional Saturday operating between 7am and 1pm.

We expect these early works to finish by late October 2025, followed by major construction over the next 18-24 months. The memorial park is scheduled to open in early 2027.
